Another attempt to bake

2 weekend ago, Kelyn, Claudia and Michelle gathered at my place to bake for our super duper vain-pot chanel crazy Mavis. We baked 3 cakes but only 1.5 cakes can be used. It's not totally about the cake, but rather the effort that we put in and the fun we have in the process of baking.

By the time, we finished it is almost 2. Kelyn was so tired that she decide to zzz instead of joining her friends to do her revision. We used up almost all the baking ingredient in my fridge. It's a good way to clear stock and also to get-together! Oh I love to bake! Papi please dun ask me to throw away my goody oldy kenwood!!!

Here's the cake! and FYI it is still edible.

Not easy to be a kid these days

Natalie is given homework for every weekend. She will have to do at least 3 pages of chinese homework + 2 worksheet for maths and english. These seems alot to me. I have a friend whose child is in Nursery is given homework everyday!!! Though it looks simple to us, it is a fair amount for work for the kid. Time has really changed, I do not remember doing any homework until I am in P1.

Our girl is not someone who can sit down and finish her homework. At the most she will do only a page or two for us. Sometimes we even have to resort to cane just to get her to sit down at the table to start her work. It is not an easy task. I would say her Papi is doing a much better job than me. He is definitely more stern and she listen to him esp when he is angry.

Natalie rather play with her yi-yi iTouch than to start with her chinese homework. After many attempts to get her to start working on her homework, Papi caned the table hard and she got a fright. Her concern is not her homework but rather if her Papi is angry with her. She will ask her Papi "Are you happy?" and hug him. Tell me who would get angry with her?

Fun filled day at Jiu Jiu House

Natalie has been asking to go to her jiu-jiu house since the 1st day of CNY. Finally yesterday we were at her jiu-jiu. Both of them brought so much laughter and joy for everyone in the family. My grandma beamed when she see the both of them. Yesterday we were there to celebrate their super vainpot Mavis yi-yi's birthday. It sort of a surprise party. We managed to put together a cake for her.

Below are the pictures from Kelyn's blog. She done a great job!

Here's our chubby tubby Natalie

Natalie has been putting quite a bit of weight. She now enjoys Sprite as much as her Papi and late night snacking like her San yi-yi, so much so that she is getting rounder by the day.
I told her "No more Sprite and Tibits" and she goes "huh huh???" pretending not to hear me.

Natalie and her new cashier

Natalie has been calling her PC a cash register. She said that is her cashier. We have been trying to tell her that's not a cashier, it is a computer. But it seems that the word "Cashier" is stuck.

She is more interested in my sis's PC which has a much bigger screen and more importantly internet connection. Without the her Nickjr and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, there seems nothing attractive for her on her cashier. My sis even installed Bob the Builder, Diego and Dora's games for her. But she got bored of those games after a while. I heard wireless router is bad for children's development. So should we install the router for her?

Presenting Nicolerella

My dear lil girl told me that she is Nicolerella.

Happy Valentine's Day

For 9 years, i begin each Valentine's Day searching for Loveline dedications on various newspaper that my hubby had put in for me. He always has the thrill seeing me searching high and low for the dedications.

This year there are 3 dedications for me. I can't stop laughing when I found the lst dedication. It's so funny. Though the 2nd dedication is so nearby, I was laughing away that I missed it totally. It took me some time to find it.

Thanks Papi for the dedications!!!
