Welcome Home Nathan Chew

Today we welcome back the 5th member of the Chew Family, our little Boy Nathan.

See the cheeky look before leaving the hospital.

Amazing how these 37 weeks went for mummy Lynn ... all the pain in the middle of the night. The poking of the fingers due to GD and I guess the most difficult thing of all ... the diet control. In any case I also join in to get my fingers poked by you and also eat less sinful food just to make u feel better. But then it is still short of all the pain which you have got to shoulder by yourself.

Then come D-Day, 25th Nov 2009 ..... the cries of little Nathan filled the Labour Ward 9 of GlenEagles Hospital.

Back at the home front, the girls were excited and welcomed their little brother Nathan home. Big Sister Natalie even went to the extent of lowering the TV volume so that little Nathan wouldnt be disturbed. And she could proudly say that little Nathan is so cute and would hesitate to help out whenever she can just like when she ran off to look for milk bottles when we mentioned that it was time for Nathan's feed. Thumbs Up little Girl.

Little Nicole is also excited about the arrival of little Nathan. No one can forget the joy and laughter she had when she was at the food court of Gleneagles Hospital.
Then back at home, she is also fast to react to little Nathans cries and keep wanting to help out as well.

Thank you mummy ... Thank for giving us such a wonder brother.

Thanks to my wife for giving me, our 3rd bundle of joy.

Btw, the blog address is still relevant given NAT is short form for Nathan. Hahahahaha but I have added Nathan's name into the title.

Thanks everyone for visiting us at the hospital and thanks for all the gifts and well wishes.

Tune in for more pictures and videos .... Papa Chew is also drained. No good sleep for 3 nights liao.

Cheers .... Thumbs Up to Mummy Lynn. : )

Natalie's Birthday Party

Highlight of Natalie's 5th Birthday party is the magician. He managed to get the kids and adults to laugh her hearts out. All the kids really enjoy his performance.

False Alarm

Last week, I was admitted due to contractions. Just 15 minutes after strapping on the CTG machine, the nurse confirmed that I have to admitted. My contractions are very regular and high. It is extremely painful. I am only 34 weeks pregnant hence Dr. Tan want to try all means to stop the contractions and prevent me from going into labour. I was given ventolin drip and stayed in the observation ward for almost 6 hours as my contractions did not stop. The drip caused heart palpitation which is extremely uncomfortable. Luckily the medication worked and I was discharged from the hospital after 2 days. Even after discharge, I has to take ventolin tablets until I deliver the baby.

I am so proud of you!

Natalie went through alot in order to appear on the stage for her school concert. She almost did not get a chance to perform as she is considered not up to it by her teacher. However at our insistance, the school included her in the concert, only in the music rendition which all performers will be singing.

Hence on the day, she is the only one who is wearing her school uniform while the rest are in their costumes. She is the only one that went to the concert hall without make up. She is the only one that is seated at one corner. She is conveniently forgotten by the teachers. The rest of her classmates queried why she neither has make up or costume on. How you expect my girl to answer? How would she feel?

"You saved me" are the words she said when she saw her Daddy who went looking for her at the backstage. Daddy wanted to bring her home but my poor girl insisted on staying on to perform with her friends. No matter how injustice she has suffered, she only has a simple wish which is to be able to be on the same stage as her friends.

The smile on her face when she finally make it to the stage is priceless.

She has been told by her teacher and classmates that she can't dance. She told me that on our way to her school just before her concert. How can a teacher said such things to a 5 year old? And I believe she has done it in front of her classmates. What is expected of a 5 year old?

I am so proud of my girl !

34 weeks soon

Another day to 34 weeks! Lately I have not been sleeping well as little Nathan is has been doing his stretching exercise in the wee hours of the night. When I toss to find a more comfortable position, he do likewise. May be because Daddy has been playing too much Mafia War to talk to him and little Nathan is protesting.

I have been losing weights ever since I am dignosed with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), but at least little Nathan is growing well. He is about 2kg at 31 weeks. Diet wise, I am grown to be more relax because I am hungry all the time. I really do not want Little Nathan to lose weight.

I was at The Line to celebrate Brandon's birthday the other day, I simply can't resist the desserts. In the end, I had a teeny weeny piece of tart and a marshmallow made especially for me by Natalie. For the whole evening, she is asking me to share her marshmallows and I keep telling her to go ahead and eat on her own. when she see that I did not share with her, she asked my mum to bring her to the foundue fountain and made 1 especially for me. How can I reject her? It is the best marshmallow that I have ever tasted. My blood glucose went up to 9.9 that night when it should not exceed 6.7.

My nesting instinct is kicking in and I want to see that everything is spick and span before Little Nathan arrives. That's a really big challenge as I hardly have any energy after work and weekends are devoted to my girls.
