Club Penguin Membership

For sometime, Natalie has been asking about membership. I always brush her off saying it is very expensive. I am reluctant to sign up for her for the fear that she will be addicted to gaming.

Lately, she and her Daddy played quite abit of Club Penguin. They managed to get from yellow belt to black belt. And in order to proceed, she will have to get membership. And she also wants to use her coins in the game to get clothes, accessories for her penguin and puffies.

It is the school holidays and she has completed all the homework that I have given her. This morning, she excitedly called me and announce that she has completed her homework and it is easy, follow by "can you get my membership please". Hence I relented and got her the membership. When I called home, she was so eager to share with me what she is buying for her penguin, telling me how nice her penguin look now. And she added Nicole needs a membership too ...

Hmmm ...

Nicole's craze over pink

Nicole is so into pink lately. Everything has to be PINK even her M&M's. Light pink or dark pink doesn't matter as long as it is pink. While we are trying her shoes that other day, she will only try on pink shoes.

She was asking me what colour I like. I told her blue and she tell me off saying that only boys like blue, girls like pink except for her jie-jie that like yellow.

Luckily, she doesn't only wear pink clothes, if not I will have a PINK overdose.

Early morning conversation

Ever since the beginning of her school holidays, she has been waking up before Daddy and me leave for work.

Almost all mornings we will have the following conversation:

Natalie: " Are you going to work, Mummy?"
Mummy: "Yes"
Natalie: "What about Daddy?"
Mummy: "Yes"
Natalie: "Can you stay at home and not go to work?"

She wishes that either of us is not going to work and could spend more them with her and her siblings. It is only 1 week since her school holiday starts and she is getting bored.

Natalie Birthday Celebration in School

This year my girl is going to graduated from kindergarten. She is aware that after the school holidays she will be going to Primary school and might not see some of her classmates again. Her teacher gave her a tweeny weeny autograph book. Inside her group mates wrote messages for her. Eason and Cheryl wrote that they miss her. It is so touching.

She is so happy that we are organising a birthday celebration for her in school. She has never celebrated her birthday in school as her birthday is during the school holidays. This year, she decide on her cake, goodies bags as well as the dress she is going to wear to school. She wanted a Dora theme. So we decided on Dora cupcakes so that every child also has a cupcake ring to bring home on top of their goodies bags. She helped to pack all the goodies bags making sure that every bag has all the items to be included. Nothing can describe the pride and joy to see the girls singing so happily during the school assembly that day.

Everyone singing her a birthday song at the assembly

Dora theme cake once again.

Nicole got time off for class to celebrate with her sister

Her teachers - Mrs Lam & Mrs Lin

Her classmates - her fave friends being Cheryl, Stacy and Joey

Growing Up in More than 1 way!

6 years already since the birth of little Natalie. Still not gotten over the sight of Dr Tan yanking her out and placing her on Mummy Lynn's tummy, just like how a fishmonger would handle a red snapper.

And yes she has graduated. Not only from her kindergarten but I guess also from her ignorance of her surrounding. Graduated from being a cry baby to someone who now plays, takes care and protects her brother Nathan.

Happy to see that she even extends her care and concern to her sister Nicole. The sight of a elder sister consoling her younger sibling that she has to leave with Daddy earlier and then coming to me to ask me to stop scolding her sister. Taken aback I was, not with my impatience for the day but with the sight that my daughter has grown up.

Little do I know that I can get so emo over her graduation but the pride to see your young one standing on stage in graduation gown overhelms you. Bringing you back from the attention which is so sucked away by the new challenges at work.

I am glad that I was part of the whole ceremony. Plenty of laughter, plenty of fun. But a sense of pride which nothing in this world can replace, to see my daughter growing up after so much she has gone through over just this one year.

A Daddy's love and pride on the graudation of her daughter.

More shopping with my girls

After I brought Nicole for her review at KKH, the girls and I went shopping. At first, I was thinking of bringing them to Ikea after shopping at United Square. I told then we are on a mission to get 3 pairs of shoes and clothes. Natalie insisted she do not need another pair of shoes while Nicole loves to have more shoes.

I was wondering what to have for lunch and have no idea where to get rice and soup for them, when Natalie pointed out to me - Aijisen on the 2nd floor. She knows we can get rice and miso soup there.

We only managed to get a pair of shoes for Nicole as well as some clothes. And by the time, we got our toys from Toy 'R' Us, the girls are so tired that they decided to move Ikea to another day. They just can't wait to go home to playing with their new ice cream toys and also to give Nathan his present.

Auntie

Auntie Li Hong's Birthday

We had a small scale celebration for Li Hong's birthday. It was her off day and we surprise her with gift and a small cake when she is returned. The kids are so happy to sing her a birthday song and blow the candle with her.

Saturday 13 November 2010

Natalie has graduated from Kindergarten

Since morning, she kept asking if it is 5:30 pm cause she do not want to be late for her graduation concert. Only one year ago, she was deprived of the chance to perform for no apparent reason.

Today she is eagerly preparing for her performance. She has been rehearsing for weeks and we did not hear her complain, only the enthusiasm of performing together with her classmates. She was humming the songs at home. Only after the performance, did she came home and told Lihong how tired she has been.

Sleepover

Natalie has been requesting to sleep with us on weekends. She loves to be cuddled by both Daddy and me and having more opportunities to play with our iphones. She will move her chew-chew and blankey over to room the moment she get permission from us.

To make sure that Nicole don't feel let out, we will ask if she wants to sleep with us. Her reply: "No, I want to sleep with my auntie" or "No, Daddy is too loud". Daddy is dumbfounded when he hears her reply.

Shopping with my girls

New playground at Paragon

We are on a mission to get clothes for their upcoming birthday party and to add it some fun, I promised to bring them to the arcade at Bugis Junction.

Surprisingly Natalie wants a dress for her birthday, a nice dress she can wear to school on the day of her birthday celebration. She is so willingly to try on different dresses. This is going to be her first birthday celebration in school as her birthday is during the school holidays and we have not celebrated her birthday in school before.

We met up with Daddy to go to Bugis. The girls had a lot of fun at the arcade. In fact, the arcade is the highlight of today's trip cos the girls have been asking through out the trip whether we are going to Bugis yet. They wanted to collect thousands of tickets so that they can exchange for many many prizes. This trip they collected 204 tickets and managed to get 2 rainbow springs with smiley face. After fun is food, we have tea at Shokudo Japanese Coffee House while Daddy have a late lunch. After food, we are so tired that we decided to call it a day and head home.

At the end of the day, we only managed to get 2 dresses for Natalie. Hence my shopping has to continue.

This day is Kelyn yee-yee's 21st Birthday. She came over just to fetch the girls from school together with Jerome and Jeff. The girls are so happy to have so many people to play with them. Subsequently majority of the lovelies gather at our house before going over to Lot 1 for dinner.

Thanks Kelyn, Mavis and Michelle for the photos.

Nicole's card for Kelyn yee-yee

I was quite surprise when I saw Nicole wrote the above on the card she was drawing for Kelyn. I have no idea where she learn this from. She even colour the heart and this week, she is very into unicorn. All pictures that she drew will include a unicorn.

Kelyn yee-yee's 21st Birthday celebration

Over the weekend, we celebrated their Kelyn yee-yee's 21st Birthday at Chervon. The theme for the day is yellow. We are the only whole family that turn up for the event all in yellow. Ernest, Nathan and me wore spongebob tee that we got for Nicole's 2nd birthday celebrate. Nathan is actually wearing Nicole's tee. Both girls have outgrown their tees and I have to find ways to get the tees for them.

The pictures are from Michelle - Thank U Michelle yee-yee

Teething

Up till now, Nathan only has his 2 central lower incisors which only appears when he is about 6 months old.
He has been drooling quite a bit for sometime now. I will say he drools much much more than the girls. But there is still no sign of his front teeth. Lately he is down with fever and it is suppose to relate to his teething. Hopefully his pearlies will appear soon.

Sunday 3 October 2010

Picnic at Marine Barrage

Over the weekend, we were at the Marine Barrage to have a picnic as well as fly kites. Natalie has been asking us to bring her to fly her kites ever since we got her kites. Most of the yee-yees and uncle were there.

I brought bread and snack, Kim Fong and Kenneth brought plenty of drinks and egg tarts, Kelyn made fried rice. Michelle is the best, she brought a whole chicken and taco wrap there. The girls are so happy that they want to go back again soon.

It rained early in the morning and we almost call off the event. Phew, the rain reduced to a drizzle and hence we decided to proceed. While we were there, it drizzled just when we started flying our kites and I have a hard time retrieving Nicole's kite and Daddy came to my rescue, and stood in the rain to do it for me. His face is almost as black as the sky when he came back drenched. After that the sun came out, it became extremely hot that many of us suffered sun burnt. Both Natalie and Nicole both have rosy cheek which looks so adorable.

Nathan stayed at home with Li Hong for he has just recovered from 2 bouts of flu. I will love to bring him along on our next trip.

The 3 little ones

Natalie loves Nathan to bits. She do not allow us to scold or even raise our voice at Nathan. She always come to his rescue. She is more than happy to jump around just to make her little brother smile. She even allow him to pull her hair. She shower him with kisses just before he goes to bed. It goes to show our little girl has grown up.

Nicole on the other hand, doesn't like Nathan to bother her. She will scream when Nathan pulls her hair or come close to her. She has a different way of showing her affection for him. She will dance for him to make him laugh.

Nathan loves both his sisters. He will crawl to his sisters to join in whatever they are doing. He also takes the role of a terrorist, snatching whatever the sisters are playing, biting his sisters art work.

Hi-5

Interestingly, when I commented that I am getting fat and Natalie asked me if I am having another baby. And I asked her if she wants another baby brother and sister. She told me: we need another baby boy and baby girl. So in total there will be 3 girls and 2 boys, just like Hi-5. I have no idea where she get the concept of wanting so many siblings. But I am sure she is one good Big sister that take good care of her siblings.

Tuesday 7 September 2010

Nicole. The beautiful one.

While we fuss over the needs of the little one, worry over the growing concerns of the elder one, somehow someone gets to be far away from the limelight.

Then again she survives by creating a world of her own, playing with herself, letting her imaginative world fill the voids of Daddy and Mummy at times. Well she has her auntie but then I always make sure that she is not out of my span of attention, then again a depleting attention given the load at work.

Just have to look at her face when she is alone with me and mummy to understand how much she longs for us. Not asking for food like her sister, attention like the brother, all she needs is for you to look at her, play with her and it would mean the whole world to her.

My little princess, the often missed out one but then the child who could end up be the one among the three to know, understand and take a different perspective of things just because of the independent childhood she goes through.

Time also to switch attention to her as she is getting older. Needs no less than the sister. More work for us? Thats definite. But then we would get to enjoy it nonetheless.

Moment of Pride

It was a usual Saturday. Waking up early to start off the day .... dun ask why I need to wake up at 6 on a Saturday morning. I also wonder sometimes.

Little then I know this particular saturday is going to be different. Cos the little one was awake when I was done with my slow shower.

Showing that cheeky look of his, 2 words emerged from the little one, 2 words that somehow stood out in the silence of the morning (er, not too quite cos of the snoring in the background) were ....... Dar Di.

Haha ... the little one calling out to me. Somehow I have got to interrupt the background snoring so as to also have my wife share in this little moment of pride. My son just called his father.
